The Gingerbread Houses on Martha's Vineyard The Front Door Project
I love the cottage core vibes of the gingerbread houses, but they can truly fit in any Christmas decor theme & could be styled so many different ways. I used linens from Target [old, but more linked HERE] & Heather Taylor Home that I love so much & of course mixed in a bunch of my antique kitchen finds to create a cozy Christmas moment.

In the bowl of a standing mixer, beat the butter on medium speed until smooth. Beat in the brown sugar until combined. Beat in the molasses until fluffy (approximately 2 minutes), stopping to scrape the bowl if necessary. Beat in the egg until well combined. Reduce the speed to low and beat in the vanilla.

I wanted to try a lighter house (much like the beautiful sugar cookie house from Zoë François). I went with my standard salt dough recipe and used maybe 2/3 of the dough to cut five houses (and the bases) with scraps leftover.
